You can also visit the Byzantine Church of Virgin Mary - a must-see landmark on account of its old age and precious 11th century Byzantine frescoes - situated right under the breathtaking Meteora rocks. This is definitely one of the most precious early Christian basilicas around Greece and, even nowadays, serves as an active church for the locals. Try visiting the church on foot, since you will have the opportunity to stroll around the old town paved streets.
